General

Use general settings to change your organization's name, supported languages, public participant-name format, season and age-calculation defaults, and whether players can join team events separately.

For colours, use Website > Themes. Your address and time zone appear under Settings > Contact and are managed by Curling IO. Contact support if either needs correcting.

Open general settings

Go to Settings > General.

General settings with the Settings navigation expanded, image upload fields, organization name, and supported languages

Edit the fields you need, then select Save at the bottom. All changes on this form save together. Wait for General settings saved. before leaving the page.

Set the organization name

Enter the name visitors should see in Organization name. This field is required. Changing it does not change your organization's website address.

Choose supported languages

Check English supported, French supported, or both. Then choose English or Français under Primary language.

The primary language is the default for URLs and emails. It always remains enabled. To stop supporting the current primary language, choose the other language as primary before unchecking it.

With both languages enabled, the primary language uses ordinary URLs and the other language adds a prefix. For example, an English-primary organization uses /contact in English and /fr/contact in French. Changing the primary language changes which language uses the unprefixed addresses, so review links you have shared before changing it.

Enabling French does not translate content you have written. Review your product names, pages, articles, and landing page in each supported language.

Choose how participant names appear publicly

Use Public name display format to choose the default formatting for participant names in public results and lineups.

FormatExample for Alex Morgan
Full nameAlex Morgan
First name, last initialAlex M.
First initial, last nameA. Morgan
First name onlyAlex
Initials onlyA.M.

This does not rename participant profiles or change names typed into page content or team names. When your organization collects a participant's name for publication and they provide one, that name takes precedence. Shortened names are not a guarantee of anonymity; check the public results you publish.

Set the season and age calculation

Set these defaults before opening registration. Changing the age calculation can change which participants qualify for age-restricted products.

General settings with a July season start, Custom month age calculation, January cutoff month, and Save

Season starts in

Choose the first month of your organization's season. A July season starts on July 1 and ends on June 30 of the following year. This is used for season-based defaults and age calculations, not to schedule individual league games or change a product's start and end dates.

Age calculation method

Choose the date used to calculate a participant's age for registration rules. The following examples use a season starting July 1, 2026.

MethodDate used
Before season beginsJune 30, 2026, the day before the season starts.
Custom monthThe last day before the chosen month within the season. January means December 31, 2026; March means February 28, 2027.
Registration dateThe registration date in your organization's time zone. Cart checks use the date the order was created, not its eventual payment date.

When you select Custom month, choose Cutoff month in the field that appears. If your rules say "age as of December 31," select January, not December. Choosing December uses November 30.

Select Save after changing either field. Age limits themselves belong to the individual products; this setting supplies the date used to evaluate them.

Let players join team events separately

Under Team Joining, check Let players join team events separately to let one person register a team and have each teammate join on their own. When a team registers for an event that doesn't need a participant profile at registration, the registrant gets a join link to share. Each player uses the link to create or select their participant profile and complete your organization-wide waivers before joining.

When this is checked, you can also check Require the Curling Development Fee when players join. A player who hasn't yet satisfied the seasonal fee must pay any missing part of it before joining. See association fees for how these fees work.

Select Save after you change either option.

Membership associations

Membership associations see a third option once Require the Curling Development Fee when players join is checked: Accept user claims for a Curling Development Fee paid elsewhere when joining a team. It lets a player who joins a team event your association runs report a fee paid at another club instead of paying again.

Under Products > Association Fees, Accept user claims for a Curling Development Fee paid elsewhere through the fee page controls the fee page and the claims report. See association fees for membership associations.

Show current games beside pages and articles

Premium

Current-games sidebars require Premium.

Check Current Games in Page and Article sidebars, then select Save. The individual page or article must also have Show the sidebar checked. See Website > Pages and Website > Articles for those controls.

Manage stored images

Logo, Navigation Logo, and Banner each accept a JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP file. Choose a file under the matching label and select Save. Image processing runs after saving, so refresh the form after a short wait to check the resulting image.

Each image has a separate job:

  • Logo appears in the club directory and is the default image when someone shares a link to your public website. A page-specific image takes precedence when one is available.
  • Navigation Logo appears beside your organization name in the top-left public navigation.
  • Banner spans the public website in the locations selected under Banner visibility.

Logo and Navigation Logo do not replace each other. If either one is missing, still processing, or failed, Curling IO omits that image from its intended location. It does not substitute the other logo or generic artwork.

Under Banner visibility, choose:

ChoiceWhere the banner appears
NoneThe banner is hidden.
Pages & ArticlesPublished pages and articles only.
Everywhere (not recommended)Every public page, including registration and account pages.

Uploading, replacing, or removing the Banner does not change this choice. If the Banner is missing or has not finished processing, no banner image appears even when its visibility is enabled.

To replace an image, choose a new file in its field and save. To remove it, check Remove image below the existing image and save. Leave the file field empty when removing an image, because selecting a replacement takes precedence over removal.

The managed landing page has its own hero image. Change it in Website Studio.

Troubleshooting

The form will not save

Enter an Organization name. If Age calculation method is Custom month, select a valid Cutoff month. Check the error shown on the form, correct the value, and select Save again.

An age-restricted registration looks wrong

Check the participant's birthdate, the product's age limits, Season starts in, and Age calculation method. For a custom month, remember that the calculation uses the day before that month begins. If dates appear to fall on the wrong local day, check the read-only Time Zone under Settings > Contact and contact support if it is wrong.
