Managers
Use Settings > Managers to give people club roles and review their Product Manager assignments. Each person uses their own Curling IO account.
Manager is the only built-in club role. It includes all club permissions; you cannot rename it, change its permissions or delete it. Create other roles with the permissions your club needs. A person can have several roles, and their permissions combine.
Product Manager assignments apply to specific products. They can coexist with club roles. Adding or changing one kind of access preserves the other.
Create or edit a role
- Open Settings > Managers, then select Roles.
- Select Create role, or Edit role beside an existing custom role.
- Enter a Role name and select its Permissions.
- Select Save role.
Changes affect everyone assigned that role. To delete a custom role, first remove it from everyone's memberships. Manager stays protected.
Only Managers can manage club roles and memberships. A custom role cannot grant that authority or Sysadmin-only operations.
Add a person
Check the email address with the person first. Access starts as soon as you add them, even if the invitation email is delayed or missed.
- On the People tab, enter their Name and sign-in Email.
- Select the club Roles they need.
- Select Invite person.
Curling IO reuses an existing account with that email address, or creates one if needed. The name you enter does not overwrite an existing account name. The invitation links to administration. They can also use the normal Sign in flow with that address.
This does not add a public contact. Manage those separately under Settings > Contact.
Change or remove someone's club access
Select Edit roles beside the person, choose their complete role set, then select Save. Their separate Product Manager assignments remain unchanged.
You cannot remove your own access or demote yourself from Manager. Curling IO also prevents removing or demoting the last active Manager. Give another trusted person Manager access before a board handover.
To remove someone's club memberships, select Delete, then Confirm. Cancel leaves them unchanged. This removes their club-role access, not their account or registrations. Separate Product Manager assignments remain and must be removed separately if they should lose those too.
Read the People list
The list shows Name, Email, Role, and Last sign-in. If an account has no name, its email appears in the name column.
Last sign-in is the account's most recent sign-in in your organization's time zone. It does not mean they last managed this club then. A dash means no sign-in has been recorded.
Review Product Manager assignments
The Product managers table shows one row per person and product. Select the product to open its Managers section. Use Previous and Next to move between pages.
Remove deletes that assignment immediately, without a confirmation step. It preserves their club roles and other product assignments. Add product managers from the product's Managers section. Nightly cleanup removes assignments for products that ended more than two years ago; products without an end date are excluded.
A Product Manager assignment alone does not grant inline AI assistant access or Platform Credit spending. Product Managers can bring their own agent. If they also hold a club role, that role's permissions still apply. See Platform Credits for the separate spending and feature permissions.
Troubleshooting
If an address already belongs to someone in the People list, use Edit roles instead of adding them again. To change a role's permissions for everyone, edit it on the Roles tab.
If someone else changed the role or membership while you were editing, reload the current version before saving again. If access changes while you work, Curling IO refuses the write and keeps your own draft available to copy. Reloading discards that draft. If a result is unknown, reload and check whether the change happened before trying again.
If an invitation is missing, check the address and ask the person to check spam. There is no resend control here. They can still use Sign in with the correct address. If you added the wrong address, remove its access promptly, then add the correct one.
